Who can become a member?

The AHK sees itself as a service provider and representative of the interests of companies operating in the German-Baltic business environment. Therefore, any company with an interest in doing business in the Baltic States and Germany can become a member, irrespective of its registered office or sector affiliation. Our members also include economic institutions, chambers and associations.

Membership fee

The annual membership fee from January 2023 is based on the number of employees in your company:

  • Non-profit organisation: EUR 385
  • Micro-companies with up to 10 employees: EUR 550
  • Small companies with 11-50 employees: EUR 715
  • Medium-sized companies with 51-250 employees: EUR 880
  • Large companies with more than 250 employees: EUR 1100
     

The one-off admission fee is EUR 150.

 

The AHK would like to be the point of contact for all companies involved in German-Baltic economic relations. The size classifications of the companies correspond to the definition of the EU Commission and were decided at the full board meeting in October 2016 and announced at the regional meetings on 21 February 2017 in Vilnius, 28 February 2017 in Tallinn and the annual meeting on 28 March 2017 in Riga.

1. Designation of the processing activity

The data protection information is provided in connection with the processing of your personal data for membership administration. Without your data, it is unfortunately not possible for us to process your membership.

3 Purposes and legal bases of processing

Your data is collected in order to accept you as a member, to communicate with you, to invite you to our events, to conduct surveys for the purposes of our chamber and to send you our newsletter/members' magazine.

Your data will be processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR in conjunction with our Articles of Association.

For members of the Board of Directors and honorary members of the AHK Baltic States, certain categories of data are stored for the purpose of the chamber chronicle. These are the categories first name, surname, company/company, election data, date of resignation.

 

4. Recipients or categories of recipients of the personal data

Your personal data will be transmitted to:

- Berlin-Charlottenburg Register of Associations: For the registration of members of the Board of Directors of the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce in the Register of Associations, personal data of the members of the Board of Directors will be transmitted to the Berlin-Charlottenburg Register of Associations:

- Notaries: In order to fulfil the representative function of the Chamber, it may be necessary in individual cases to transfer personal data of board members of the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce to notaries.

Your data will be provided via a web application on the Internet. The confidentiality, integrity (inviolability), authenticity (genuineness) and availability of personal data cannot be guaranteed.

 

5. Transfer of personal data to a third country

We use the mailing service provider MailChimp of the Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA, to send mass emails and the newsletter.

6. Duration of the storage of personal data

Your data will be stored after collection for the duration of your membership. Statutory retention periods may make further storage necessary.

 

7. Rights of data subjects

According to the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights:

If your personal data is processed, you have the right to obtain information about the personal data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR).

If incorrect personal data is processed, you have the right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR).

If the legal requirements are met, you can request the erasure or restriction of processing and object to processing (Art. 17, 18 and 21 GDPR).

In the event of an objection, we can no longer contact you as a member and the membership relationship would end.

As the data processing is based on a contractual basis and the data processing is carried out using automated procedures, you may have a right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).

If you make use of your above-mentioned rights, the AHK will check whether the legal requirements for this are met.

8 Right to withdraw consent

If you have consented to processing by the AHK, you can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. This does not affect the legality of the data processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the revocation.
