Homanit is a leading manufacturer of wooden fibreboards in the European wood-based industry. The group of companies specializes in the manufacture and sale of thin, high-quality finished medium-density fibreboards (MDF) and high-density fibreboards (HDF) for Western and Eastern Europe as well as the rest of the World.

Production takes place at our German site in Losheim am See and our two Polish sites in Krosno/Oder and Karlino. The main customers of our Fibreboards (MDF/HDF) business unit are many of the best-known, globally operating furniture manufacturers and numerous large and medium-sized enterprises from the door and coating industries. Our thin fibreboards are used in the furniture industry, especially as back panels of cupboards and wardrobes, bottoms of drawers or front and back panels of doors of any kind.

Growth markets in Eastern part of the Europe has greatly expanded its production in recent years and therefore a decision has been made for a next investment step. Last year in Lithuania near Vilnius a 77-ha industrial land plot was acquired.

Currently engineering design works are under process with the task start construction activities at the end of this year. Start of operations – 2022 III Q. Planned capacity of the plant is 265 000 m3 of HDF/MDF boards. Overall project investment capex – 150 mio eur, 440 highly skilled employees will be hired to operate state of the art new production lines.
