Rīgas Brīvostas pārvalde is the harbour of Riga. Whether as a ferry harbour or a port for goods, it offers all associated tasks. According to its own statement, more than 34 million tonnes of cargo were handled in 2011 and over 710,000 ferry passengers were transported. The handling capacity of the port of Riga is 45.0 million tonnes per year. In 2010, the port had a total of 4,040 ships.
