tielec has founded a new headquarter in Riga 2023: tielec Power Systems SIA.

tielec is manufacturer of large electric systems with outstanding reliability and availability. Its customers are mainly capital goods industry and railroad companies. The new headquarter in Riga has been founded with the focus on development, systems consulting and cooperation. The aim is a cooperation with RTU, the beginning had been made 2 years ago by giving a short students lesson in high power electronics for drives and traction application.

There are some large reference systems in Germany, starting with a cabinet of 43m length and 4,5m height for Deutsche Bahn repair shop, the most powerful 500A mobile 670V power-supply for all types of ICE-trains, which is in spite of its age of 15 years still the most modern one – with controller-boards and power-electronics made by tielec. For a period of > 2 years, when the system reached the age of 7 years, it had been the only licensed power supply for the new ICE4-train from SIEMENS. This mobile system is used to support repair shops of Deutsche Bahn, whenever again some competitor systems are causing problems.

tielec is the manufacturer of power electronic components and control, whenever there are no available solutions on the market.

The aim is a new definition of heavy systems solutions in Latvia and in general in the Baltic States – to keep them competitive in international comparison. In order to do so, tielec has started a close cooperation with various small companies and manufacturers in Europe a long time ago. This is what we would like to achieve in the Baltic States too, looking for interested partners and tasks.
