Dear Partner,
We are proud to share the first Sustainability report for Lidl Latvija and Lidl Eesti. It is reporting on our baseline – FY 2022 and 2023. We are confident to report data after it has been so tightly revised by our Controlling colleagues both at NAT and INT level and a certified external auditor, Sustain Academy. The report has been a real example of and excellent #teamlidl work.
Among many things we are proud to report that:
- 100% of our electricity now comes from renewable sources.
- We have reduced our GHG emissions intensity by over 25% in just one year.
- Our stores and logistics center are ISO 50001 certified, we use 100% natural refrigerants and we’ve expanded the use of photovoltaic systems.
- We’ve made significant strides in diversity and inclusion, with women holding over 40% of management roles in Latvia and more than 64 % in Estonia.
- Our Vemondo plant-based product line is helping customers make healthier, more sustainable choices—at no extra cost.
Beyond our operations, we’ve partnered with organizations like WWF in Latvia, Riga Zoo, and Tallinn Zoo, SOS Children Villages and supported food banks, schools, and hospitals through donations and volunteerism.
CEO Of Lidl Latvija, Lidl Lietuva and Lidl Eesti, Maciej Urbanski emphasizes: “We know that sustainability is not a destination, but a continuous journey. That’s why we remain committed to transparency, innovation, and collaboration with our stakeholders. Together, we can build a future that is not only better for business, but better for people and the planet.”
