The growing strategic interest of the U.S. government — particularly in the context of security, access to natural resources and Arctic geopolitics — highlights Greenland’s increasing geopolitical and economic importance. At the same time, Greenland is becoming ever more relevant for Europe, not only as an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, but also as a key player in the future of security, energy and critical raw materials.

Andreas Wenzel has been Managing Director of the German-Danish Chamber of Commerce in Copenhagen since 1 April 2023. Prior to this role, he held positions in institutions, associations, and companies, consistently working in an international environment at the interface between politics and business. Most recently, he served as Executive Board Member of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Morocco.
Andreas Wenzel holds a degree in Business Administration (Diplom-Kaufmann) and a Master’s degree in African Development Studies.
