Business Trip on the Topic “Smart Industry” to the Region of Baden-Württemberg
The German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce (AHK) invites you to take part in our exclusive “Smart Industry” business trip on 25–26 March 2026, which will take place in one of Germany’s leading Smart Industry clusters in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg.
During the trip, we will explore developments in Smart Industry, visit several leading German companies, and experience various aspects of Industry 4.0 directly at the source (the goal of the trip is to gain inspiration from Germany’s innovative and highly advanced production automation): TRUMPF AG, a world-leading manufacturer of machine tools, lasers and electronics for industrial applications; the Festo Technology Plant in Scharnhausen, a modern production facility of the automation specialist Festo; the Bosch plant in Feuerbach (Stuttgart) – one of the company’s oldest and largest sites and a pioneer in the implementation of Industry 4.0 with highly networked and digitalized manufacturing processes; and the globally leading automotive group Mercedes-Benz in Sindelfingen with its high-tech automotive production.
The trip offers the opportunity to gain inspiration from companies that will open their doors especially for our group. There will be guided tours through production facilities and opportunities to learn about the latest technologies in manufacturing processes and to engage in discussions with leading experts in their fields.
Program Overview
• TRUMPF AG
TRUMPF is one of the market leaders in machine tools and lasers for industrial production, and its innovations impact many industries. TRUMPF software solutions pave the way toward the Smart Factory and enable high-tech processes in industrial electronics. Founded in 1923 as a mechanical workshop, TRUMPF has developed into one of the world’s leading companies for machine tools, lasers and electronics for industrial production.
• Festo Technology Plant in Scharnhausen
The Festo Technology Plant in Scharnhausen is a modern production facility of the automation specialist Festo SE & Co. KG near Stuttgart. On around 66,000 m², the factory produces pneumatic and electronic components such as valves and electronic modules. It stands for Industry 4.0 production, energy efficiency, sustainability and flexible manufacturing, and also serves as an innovation and learning site.
• Bosch in Feuerbach
The Bosch plant in Stuttgart-Feuerbach is one of the company’s oldest and largest sites and combines production, development and IT. It mainly produces high-pressure pumps and components for powertrain and exhaust aftertreatment systems in the Mobility Solutions sector. Particularly noteworthy is the site’s role as a pioneer in implementing Industry 4.0 with highly networked and digitalized manufacturing processes. Digital tools such as the Active Cockpit ensure transparency and real-time control in production. This is complemented by Smart Industry solutions such as AI-supported analyses and a private 5G campus network. Feuerbach is therefore considered a reference site for intelligent, flexible and efficient industrial production at Bosch.
• Mercedes-Benz in Sindelfingen
A visit to the Mercedes-Benz plant offers insight into the future of the automotive industry. The Daimler plant in Stuttgart/Sindelfingen is a competence center for the production of electric vehicles. The plant is a pioneer in the development and implementation of innovative production and technology processes in the context of Smart Industry and Smart Factory.
