Young Energy Europe (YEE) is a project implemented by DIHK Service GmbH, funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN) under the European Climate Initiative (EUKI).
The aim of the project is to train Energy Scouts — young professionals who, through a week-long training program, gain practical and theoretical knowledge in the areas of energy and resource efficiency, sustainable mobility, CO₂ emissions and calculations, and other related topics. The training is led by experienced experts in energy and climate protection.
After completing the training, participants have one month to develop a practical project in English aimed at improving energy efficiency in their work place. Once their projects are finalized, the Energy Scouts will present them to an expert jury and fellow participants at the final event taking place at the end of October 2026. Many of the projects are subsequently implemented in their respective companies.
Upon successfully completing the training program, the remote Plegro modules, and presenting their practical projects, participants are awarded Energy Scout certificates. The team with the highest-rated project wins the opportunity to attend the International Energy Scout Exchange Meeting free of charge, taking place on December 1-3, 2026 in Zagreb, Croatia.
Why participate?
Taking part in YEE is a smart move—not only for the Energy Scouts, who gain valuable knowledge and skills, but also for the companies they represent. By implementing the scouts’ projects, companies can often achieve significant savings with relatively low investment, all while contributing to climate protection.
Young professionals between the ages of 18 and 35 are eligible to participate in the project. However, older applicants are also welcome to register! More information about the project can be found here.
It’s a true win-win for people, business, and the planet!
