Estonia has opened a business hub at its embassy in Berlin. Located at the premises of its diplomatic representation in the German capital, the new facility aims at supporting Estonian companies entering the German market and fostering business relations between Estonia and Germany.
“The new business hub in Berlin will bring companies from both countries together, promote cooperation, and show how closely innovation and diplomacy are linked today,” Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said at the opening ceremony on 14 November 2025, while emphasizing the importance of Germany as a strategic trade partner. “Estonia and Germany share close economic ties, particularly in the timber sector, digital affairs and cyber security, tourism, and increasingly also defence".
German Economics Minister Katherina Reiche and German Minister of State Günther Krichbaum also took part in the opening event. In her speech, Reiche highlighted how Estonia has been always the role model for digitalisation for Germany and that could learn from the Baltic state's extremely lively business climate. A delegation of Estonian companies was present at the opening event, demonstrating in a seminar how digital technologies, industrial prefabrication, and integrated energy solutions can make the construction and real estate industries more efficient and sustainable.
Not long after the opening, a first defense industry seminar and networking event was held in the new premises to help Estonian defense companies establish contacts in Germany. Over two days in December, the event brought together over 60 representatives from Estonian and German firms. ”Summarizing the experience of these two days, it is clear that there is significant interest in Germany for the opportunities offered by Estonia’s defense industry, as our solutions meet the most demanding international standards,” said Estonian Minister of Defense Pevkur.
Estonia and Germany are close economic partners, collaborating in areas ranging from cyber and digital affairs to timber, tourism and defence.
